2013 Iditarod Race Tours

This 2013 Iditarod Race Tour Package takes you to Nome for the finish of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and gives you a chance to experience a little bit of Inupiaq Eskimo lifestyle and culture. The Bering Sea is a unique environment and March is a wonderful time to experience it. Flying along the coastline as we visit the Unalakleet and White Mountain checkpoints gives us wonderful views of this frozen expanse. On two occassions we travel along the frozen coastline and surrounding snow covered hills by snowcat. Our first trip will be to explore the hills near Nome looking for muskox and visiting the historic Dredge #5. Our 2nd snowcat tour will be to the Safety checkpoint, an experience you won't want to miss. We will stand at the finish line when the Iditarod Champion comes up the chute and cheer the other mushers as the make their way into Nome over the days. March is a good time to view northern lights and we will hopefully see them as we wait for mushers to arrive .
