Be an Arctic explorer "et exploratrice" with Barrens Expeditions. Before the Arctic changes forever,
travel this expedition ~12-14 total days staying in cabins and Igloos as
well as the remarkable Bekere Lake Lodge. The first 4-5 days you journey by
snowmobile from Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk over frozen Franklin Bay & Amundsen
Gulf to Paulatuk. This route touches the historical "North West Passage",
and you can see remnants from the 1800's and the early 1900's in the form of
abandoned Hudson Bay Posts, decaying Mission structures, long deserted
whaling stations. You will see caribou, muskox, aurora borealis; may see
wolves, Barren Grizzly, Polar Bear, & ancient tent rings as well as vestiges
of the "cold war" DEW line sites.
You next stay 2 easy days in Paulatuk
before traveling (~6hrs) by snow machine to the Bekere Lake Lodge. At Bekere
you will relax in comfort for 5 days; partaking of: the Inuvialuit foods,
wildlife photographic trips, talks by your guide(s) on flora, fauna, animals
& Inuit survival techniques, enjoy ice fishing, walks across the lake, each
evening culminating with extended conversations with friends by the fire.
All-Inclusive Package Features
Costs are approximately $7500 USD for this 12-14 day trip of a lifetime. Contact Barrens Expeditions for more detail. |
